My name is Alyssa Digges, and I’m a twenty-something feminist living and working in Chicago. I just moved in by myself for the first time, and so far I’m loving it!

I am a devoted cat mom to two loving, affectionate, lazy cats named Macaroni and Mostaccioli. I spend most of my time making art in some form or another (writing, singing, acting, drawing at a first grade level) and trying to figure out how being an adult works.

I was diagnosed with depression at eighteen, bipolar disorder at twenty-one, and generalized anxiety and panic disorder with obsessive compulsive tendencies at twenty-two. At my scariest, least medicated point, I lovingly and kindly referred to myself as six gallons of crazy in a five gallon bucket. I hit my lowest point during February of 2015, when I spent a little over a week in a psychiatric hospital. Ever since then, I have been striving and struggling to find my way to being well. I learn something new about this complicated journey to wellness every day, and I hope that in sharing my journey, I can help others find their way to well too.
Alyssa, thank you for your honesty. Sharing your journey will undoubtedly help someone else. I’m so very proud of you!

I just found your site, and I’m happy I did! I searched Pinterest for “how to take care of yourself” in a hope that something just like this would come up. I didn’t think it would, but I’m so glad it did!
